Frequently Asked Questions...

Creating a comfortable space for our Divine Divas!

How much does a QT Scan cost?

A bilateral QT scan at Divine Breast Imaging is $600.

If only one breast needs to be scanned it is $400.

Scans are paid in full at the time of booking.

Is the QT Scan COVERED by INSURANCE?

There is currently a "catch all" CPT code that you may submit to your insurance company.  This current code (#76999) may be used by the insurance company to assign coverage for the "QT Breast Acoustic Ultrasound CT."

If you DOWNLOAD "A LETTER TO YOUR DOCTOR" FROM OUR HOMEPAGE and use that info as you speak with your insurance company, they MAY cover your QT Scan. (One of our clients has already had her insurance company agree to cover her QT Scan 100%!)

IF your insurance company agrees to cover your QT Scan, they MAY also want your doctor to provide a prescription for it, so just ask them.

(Another CPT code has just been approved by the AMA to be released July 1, 2026 and activated in January of 2027!)

How do other options compare to the QT Breast Scan?

The QT Scan is truly a revolution in breast imaging. Advanced technology combines QT ultrasound, AI powered lesion classification, tissue biomarkers from speed of sound maps, and image reconstruction software to generate exceptional image quality which has 200,000 more data points than an MRI and superior resolution. It is a 360º high resolution 3D imaging system that sees all the way to the chest wall, with NO radiation, NO compression, NO injected contrast, and NO feelings of claustrophobia. So basically, NOTHING compares. Clinically validated. FDA cleared. Safe, Comfortable, Affordable- IDEAL for women with implants and DENSE BREASTS. QT Scans mean fewer false positives, fewer false negatives, fewer unnecessary biopsies, and much less anxiety.

Can the QT Scan "see" through Dense Breasts?

YES! 40-50% of women have dense breast tissue. The limitations of outdated technologies used for breast screening have led to a lot of false positives with repeated and increased levels of radiation, false negatives, anxiety, and unnecessary biopsies. The QT Scanner uses AI technology combined with 360º High-Resolution 3D Imaging produced by low level sound waves reflecting through water which surrounds your breast while you rest. Radiologists can clearly distinguish between all the various types of breast tissue with increased accuracy. This means more clarity, without harm or discomfort, and much less anxiety.

Who is eligible for a QT Scan?

If you...

  • can lay still and flat on your stomach while resting comfortably on our padded QT Scanner table for approximately 10-15 minutes per breast, with your head to the side,
  • can climb up two steps to get onto the padded QT Scanner table,
  • are not larger than DDD or G breast size,
  • do not exceed 400 lbs,
  • do not have a pacemaker,
  • and are clear of any rashes or open wounds on your breasts
  • are not allergic to chlorinated water (This may require special scheduling.)
  • are not ill on the day of your scan. (Sneezing, coughing, fever, etc.-Reschedule.)

then you are able to have a QT Scan!

Is the QT Scanner 100% accurate?

NO modality is 100% accurate. We, at Divine Breast Imaging, feel strongly that the QT Scanner is leading the field in just about every aspect. One of the most notable facts about this machine is that it is "Operator Independent." This greatly reduces the factor of human error, adding to the accuracy of the scan. If you have any questions after you read through this page, we are happy to find answers for you. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable, and confident in your decision to utilize the QT Scanner as an option for your breast imaging.

IF you are coming from out of town for your scan- consider booking a morning appointment for your scan so you can be certain we have achieved the desired image quality before you fly out. If the scan needs to be repeated... your breasts need to be here!

What types of payment do you accept at Divine Breast Imaging?

Debit is preferred! We also accept credit cards, and payments from your personal HSA and FSA accounts. Payments are made at the time of booking. You will receive an email after you book your appointment, with a secure link where you can submit payment.

However, IF your insurance company agrees to cover your QT Scan, they MAY also want your doctor to provide a prescription for it. There is currently a CPT code that you may submit to your insurance company. (And another CPT code has just been approved by the AMA!)

Do I need a referral to get a QT Scan at Divine Breast Imaging?

NO REFERRAL NEEDED. The QT Scan at Divine Breast Imaging is available to any woman who chooses to utilize this advanced method of breast screening, but there are factors that may require some women to choose an alternative form of screening.

Can women between 18 - 40 years old get a QT Scan?

The QT Scan is the ONLY form of breast imaging approved by the FDA for women as young as 18.

Breast cancer diagnoses in women ages 15-39 has increased 17.2% since 2000. The most common form of cancer for this group is the most aggressive form: TNBC (Triple-Negative Breast Cancer).  Breast Cancer diagnoses for women ages 30-34 was 3x that of women ages 25-29. Even so, the American Cancer Society has not recommended mammograms for women of average risk under 40 years old. We believe it may be because the younger you are, the more dense your breasts are. Since mammograms miss about 50% of cancers in dense breast tissue, these women have not been offered the option. That changes with QT technology. We encourage you, if you are in this age group between 18-40, to schedule your QT Scan today. NO REFERRAL NEEDED.

Is the QT Scan painful?

The QT Scan at Divine Breast Imaging is designed to be the most comfortable breast scan you have ever had. This is a non-invasive technology performed in a Spa-like environment. Some women may be sensitive to the area where the padded rim meets the rib. If you have any discomfort, let your technician know and she can provide some options which may help.

Is the QT Scan safe for women with implants?

YES! The QT Scan is perfect for women with implants! This amazing technology can distinguish between implants and all types of breast tissue, AND it sees from the nipple, all the way to the chest wall- with NO COMPRESSION! AND, the QT Scan can check the viability of your implants-which should be done every three years!

Is the QT Scan harmful in any way?

No. This innovative technology uses NO radiation, NO compression, and  NO injected contrast. What it does do is reduce the anxiety that may occur because of inconclusive or false results as with other outdated methods of breast scanning. But we do have to warn you... you MAY fall asleep!

Who reads my QT Breast Scan?

All scans are read and analyzed by a board-certified licensed radiologist who specializes in Quantitative Transmission Imaging. At Divine Breast Imaging, our goal is to get your results to you in the most timely manner possible to reduce any anxiety you may feel.

How do I get the results of my QT Breast Scan?

The results of your scan, with recommendations provided by the radiologist, will be securely emailed to you within 7-10 business days (or less.) If you wish to have a copy of these results to keep or share, we can provide/ mail a USB flash drive with your results for $20.

I got my results... What now? And What is a "Short Interval Study"?

The radiologist will make a full recommendation as to how you should proceed whether your results are normal or abnormal. The QT Scanner utilizes AI technology to distinguish between dense breast tissue, implants, or something that may need to be biopsied, or just monitored. If there is a finding that is more likely to be benign (non-cancerous) the radiologist may recommend a SHORT INTERVAL STUDY, usually repeating the scan in 60 days-6 months (at a reduced rate) to determine whether the lesion has stayed the same (and just needs to be followed), or whether it has doubled in size (indicating further action should be considered.) This method, coupled with this level of technology, helps women to avoid unnecessary biopsies, over diagnosis, and over treatment.

How do I discuss my QT Scan results with my doctor?

While many doctors are now aware of the QT Scan, some are still catching up. Share your report and images with your doctor in the same manner as you would discuss the results of an MRI. Focus on the significance and the implications of the findings and the advanced technology the QT Scanner has provided for you WITHOUT radiation, compression, or injected contrast. DOWNLOAD "A LETTER TO YOUR DOCTOR" on our Home Page and give it to your doctor along with one of our informative pamphlets. Both of these items are very useful in helping your doctor understand the significance of a QT Scan.

Can I have a QT Scan if I am pregnant?

Although QT Scans are not harmful in any way, they are contraindicated for women who are pregnant.

Can I get a QT Scan if I am nursing/ lactating?

Yes. Please contact us so we can let you know what special appointment times we have available for women who are lactating.

How do I prepare for my QT Scan now that I have scheduled it?

  • Make sure your scan is paid for.
  • Complete all the forms in your Client Portal.
  • Double check the time and location of your scan. Adjust travel time for traffic delays.
  • Shower either the night before or the morning of your scan.
  • Do NOT apply any lotions, oils, powders, etc. on your breasts or surrounding area. Arrive with clean skin.
  • When dressing, keep in mind you will need to remove your top. (A comfortable spa robe will be provided for your use.)
  • Reschedule IF you have any open wounds or rashes on your breasts until you are healed.
  • You may eat and drink normally prior to your scan. We invite you to use our restroom before your scan.
  • If you are ill, please reschedule! Coughing and sneezing will ruin your scan, and put our technician at risk.

What if I have to cancel my appointment?

Managing your appointment is easy when you are in our Client Portal. Any changes made will be automatically emailed to your QT Technician to let her know. We ask, if possible, that you give 48 hours notice, and reschedule as soon as possible.

May I bring my support animal (ESA) with me to my appointment?

Only trained Service animals have legal access to our shop under the Americans with Disabilities Act. A fine of up to $5,000 may be imposed on any person misrepresenting their animal as a true Service Animal. That said, due to the detrimental impact pet hair or dander could have on our QT Scanner, no animals will be allowed in the Suites where scanning takes place.

Is smoking allowed on the premises of this location?

Smoking of any kind is not allowed anywhere on the premises.

May I bring another person in the suite with me during my QT Scan?

Yes, you are welcome to have an additional person sit in the suite with you during your scan as long as they do not disrupt the process. You will need to remain completely still during your scan so talking and laughing will not be beneficial during this time. And because this process involves NO RADIATION, your guest will be perfectly safe and comfortable, just like you. (Keep in mind- employees cannot be responsible for monitoring children during your scan.)

What about parking?

Parking is free and pink spots are available in the front of the building for your convenience.

Additional parking behind building as well, but please use front entrance.
